The Best Animation of the 2000s

A bit early for the entire decadal dissection of the movies so far in the 2000s, but I thought it would not be too much to think about just the animated films. I subscribe to AC Clarke's decade numbering, so 2000 is the last year of the last decade, and 2001 is the first of this decade, so we do indeed have a year to go, but with only 10% of a decade, we can still get a fresh start on some lists.

These are not top 10 lists, but I am limiting my list to 10, just not necessarily in that order.

The very best animated film, however [despite my last sentance], is definately Miyazaki's "Spirited Away." Hands down, with a close runner-up going to Pixar's "Finding Nemo."

The others, since I have been mulling them over in my mind:

Spirited Away
Finding Nemo

[Some more Pixar]
Up
Wall-E
Ratatouille
The Incredibles

Wallace & Gromit and the Curse of the Were-rabbit
Metropolis
[and while I haven't seen Miyazaki's recent]
Ponyo
[I will bet that it fits in this list]

Such as lists go, mostly I am hoping for some good ideas for some good animation that I missed on this, my maiden voyage of bloggery.

I forgot Shrek!! How could I forget Shrek. The two sequels were OK, but nothing beats the original. And while I am re-editing this I had in mind originally Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within as a runner-up, due to its use of realistic human models, and the last 10 seconds of serinity.
